PDF Watermarking

Stamp text (font size, opacity, rotation, corner/center placement) or a JPEG/PNG image across every page using pdf-lib locally. Encrypted PDFs are not supported. Download a watermarked copy — your file never leaves the browser.

Watermarks are applied locally in your browser. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened here.

PDF to watermark

Position

Watermarking without uploading

Load a normal (unencrypted) PDF, choose text or image mode, tune opacity and placement, then apply. pdf-lib draws the watermark on each page in memory and you download a new file. This is ideal for drafts, internal review copies, or light branding — not a substitute for cryptographic signing or legal redaction.

Layout notes

Text watermarks use a standard bold Helvetica font at the size you set and can be rotated. Image watermarks accept JPEG or PNG and scale relative to page width. Complex PDFs with unusual page sizes still receive the stamp based on the same corner or center presets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my encrypted PDF fail?

The tool does not ask for a password. Decrypt the file with a trusted local tool first, then watermark the unlocked PDF.

Will watermarks appear under existing content?

Watermarks are drawn as additional content on the page order managed by pdf-lib; very dense vector art might visually overlap depending on how the PDF was built. Always preview the download.
